Terms of Use

Effective Date: 2025-02-23

Welcome to Deep, the dating app that puts personality before selfies. If you’re here for real conversations, great! If you’re here for unsolicited you-know-what pics, spam, or general weirdness—kindly exit stage left.

By using Deep, you agree to these Terms of Use. We know, terms and conditions aren’t exactly thrilling, but they do keep things safe and fair for everyone.

Please also refer to our Privacy Policy and EULA, which together with this Agreement form your complete legal agreement with Du Jour Ltd and the use of Deep.

1. Who Can Use Deep? (Spoiler: No Kids, No Fakes, No Trolls).

Deep is strictly for adults, 18+ only. No exceptions. If you’re under 18, you cannot use Deep. If we find out you’re underage (or pretending to be someone else), your account will be terminated faster than a bad first date.

Also, one account per person—no shared accounts, no fake profiles, and definitely no catfishing.

2. Your Responsibilities (yes, you have some).

Your Account, Your Rules (but also, your responsibility).

  • Your Deep account is for you and you alone. Don’t share it, rent it out, or let your buddy act for you.
  • If you do share it (which you shouldn’t), you’re 100% responsible for anything that happens on your account.

Your Device, Your Security.

  • Protect your login details like you would your phone password or your most embarrassing search history.
  • You’re responsible for your own device, internet, and data security. If you get hacked because your password is "password123", that’s on you.

3. What You Can’t Do (because we’d like to keep this a nice place).

Deep is a community for genuine connection. That means:

🚫 No Illegal or Shady Behavior

You may not use Deep to:

  • Break any laws (local, national, international—crime is crime).
  • Exploit minors or engage in any harmful behavior toward them.
  • Spam people—no junk mail, chain messages, or MLM pitches.
  • Impersonate others—whether it’s another user, a celebrity, or an employee of Du Jour Limited.

🚫 No Creepy, Disruptive, or Harmful Behavior.

  • No catfishing—be yourself (or at least an AI-generated version of yourself).
  • No unsolicited explicit images or videos—seriously, no one wants that.
  • No harassment, intimidation, or stalking—if someone isn’t into you, move on.
  • No abusive, derogatory, or offensive language in profiles, messages, or voice recordings.
  • No inappropriate, harassing, or illegal behavior before, during, or after a date.

🚫 No Tech Shenanigans.

  • No bots, AI, or automation—this app is for humans, not digital pick-up artists.
  • No scraping, hacking, or copying Deep’s content—our lawyers will not be amused.
  • No viruses, malware, or cyberattacks—Deep is a dating app, not a battleground.
  • No DoS (denial-of-service) attacks or anything that disrupts Deep for others.

4. Our Intellectual Property (don’t steal our stuff, please).

Deep, the Deep logo, our AI-generated profile images, and everything else that makes Deep Deep is owned by Du Jour Limited.

This means:

  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer our app or website (thedeepapp.com) without permission.
  • Any content you post remains yours (so no, we won’t sell your love letters). But by posting it, you grant us the right to use, modify, and display it as part of Deep.
  • If you think someone is infringing on yours or our intellectual property, let us know at hello@thedeepapp.com

5. What Happens If You Break the Rules?

If you violate these Terms, we may:

  • Mute, suspend or ban your account (temporarily or permanently).
  • Remove your content and messages.
  • Take legal action if needed

We also reserve the right to delete accounts that are inactive for more than 6 months, so if you disappear for half a year, don’t be surprised if we clean house.

6. Data & Privacy (we actually care about this).

We take privacy seriously. See our Privacy Policy for all the details.

Here’s what we do with your data:

  • We don’t sell your data.
  • We may delete your data after 6 months of inactivity.
  • You can request deletion of your data at any time.

1. GDPR: If you're in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. If you’re not comfortable with this, please don’t use the app.

2. CCPA: California residents can request details on what personal information is being collected and ask to opt-out of its sale. Good news, we don’t sell your data!

3. Jurisdiction and Governing Law: While these terms are governed by New Zealand law, if you’re in a different country, local laws may provide additional rights or requirements (e.g., consumer protection laws, privacy regulations).

7. Changes to These Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we’ll let you know. If you keep using Deep, that means you’re cool with the changes.
